Hello, beautiful people! So I’ve got some exciting news! It is cover reveal time! I know I am using a bunch of exclamation points, but I am really excited! So below is the full print cover for The Last Bladesinger, which is the first novel in my Legends of Vandor setting. Below that is the e-Book cover. I still have a ton of work to do on The Last Bladesinger, but I am still being particularly ambitious.
This month I was working on finishing Ursidae but opted to move onto another project. Primarily because I wasn’t feeling so strongly Science Fiction and I don’t want the last book in a series to fall prey to the trilogy curse. You know where the first movie is good, the second is the best, and the third is well … Spiderman 3, Superman 3, Highlander 3, Batman Forever, need I say more?
So, I am focusing on a new venture that may or may not work. I am thinking of placing this one under a pseudonym, so I am keeping it under wraps for now, but I may reveal it later. In July, I am taking on a new ambition. Normally, when I have a NaNoWriMo, JuNoWriMo, or Camp NaNo month, I work to write the 50k word first draft of a novel. However, my most successful and well liked writing to date has been my Legends of Vandor Short Stories. I thoroughly enjoy writing these stories as much as my readers enjoy reading them. So I have decided to undertake 4 new Legends of Vandor short stories in July. Each will top out around 12,500 words each, for a total of 50k words by the end of the month.
I am completely in love with this idea. The primary reason being is that I have this sort of panic and rush to write in WriMo months, which I think tends to make my writing less than its best. I love the challenge, but I think breaking it up by weeks instead of making it a month-long journey allows me to get that more immediate completion result that spurs me on to bigger and better things. This doesn’t mean I’ll never write a novel during WriMo months, but for July, I’m trying this. I’ll let you all know how it works.
So that is enough of my rambling, without further ado, I give you The Last Bladesinger: Cover Reveal!
The cover design above was completed by Orina Kafe, she is an amazing cover design artist. I found her on PeoplePerHour.com and I am absolutely in love with the quality of her work. I’ve also redesigned my
On another note, I have redesigned my Legends of Vandor Short Stories covers to bring them more in line with a professional/clean look, which I think really makes them stand out more. I like to think of them like leatherbound chronicles. You can see them below:
